Understand Me: A Teenager’s Plea
Understand Me: A Teenager’s Plea
To my parents,
As I enter this new class,
Dad I made it at last!
This class is no joke,
I can see the pressure rising and smoke.
Mom I feel scared,
For this new class I am not prepared.
That’s right I am a teenager now,
The syllabus makes me say how,
Will I ever complete it on time?
Gosh! Will I get to sleep sometime?
Exams will soon be on my head,
That is something I really dread.
All this studying makes me want to cry,
But how will you know if you never try?
That is what you say to me
All I want you to do is let me be.
This class is really tough,
Sometimes I think I have had enough.
In the end, here I stand,
All I want you to do is understand.
That’s right I am in my teens,
It’s not like fairy tale of kings and queens
But what about my goals and dreams?
In my head all I do is scream.
I feel angry and I feel sad,
All I want you to is love me mom and dad
Is my body changing like my mind?
If you don’t tell me how will I find?
I feel nervous and I feel the stress,
Now I am even talking less.
Did you notice that?
Because it’s time we have a chat.
In the end, here I stand,
All I want you to do is understand.
