Once I was
Once I was playing cricket,
That I “am supposed to play”
The Ball hit me hard,
Fallen on the ground, in a pool of blood I lay
Shouting and wailing, thinking I was about to die
My coach wiped away my tears saying,
“Boys do NOT cry”
Once I was shopping clothing
Red, blue and green
Got my heart melted on a shirt
But my mom didn’t allow buying it saying
“Boys do NOT like pink”
Once I was cycling with my friends
Down the empty lane,
Stumbled down with my bike,
On the road wet with rain
And my friends did console me saying
“Boys do NOT feel any pain”
“Boys are strong
They are never ever wrong”
Is something with which I do not agree,
Masculine, Feminine are just genders
Strengths and weaknesses are mere human uncertainties.
Sooner or later
This prejudice shall doom
Only then both boys and girls shall be happy
And their childhood shall really bloom.
