An Indian Goddess Girlchild
A land having heritage of over thousands years old,
Once known as the land of gold,
Where kings and queens ruled majestically and bold,
Goddesses are worshipped, which over thousands hold,
A land where people pray to goddess of wealth
Maybe that’s why every single day; a girl gets killed for dowry
In the same land,
A land where people pray to goddess that is conqueror of evil,
Maybe that’s why every single hour, a girl is victimised of domestic violence
In the same land,
A land where people pray to goddess of fertility and strength,
Maybe that’s why every single minute; a girl is murdered before getting born
In the same land,
A land where people pray to goddess of beauty and serenity,
Maybe that’s why every single night; a girl is harassed insanely,
In the same land,
A land where people pray to goddess of knowledge and wisdom,
Maybe that’s why in every single village, there is a house where girl education is still a taboo
In the same land,
A land where people pray to goddess as warrior,
Maybe that’s why an Indian girl child, is still fighting with every single mind
in that same land,
A land having heritage of over thousands years old,
Once known as the land of gold,
Where kings and queens ruled majestically and bold,
Where still goddess are worshipped, which over thousands hold.
