Expression of peace
Expression of peace is the first step to peace of mind. Peace of mind is one of those instances in life that are hard to describe, but really easy to know. We all know that sensation. In that ephemeral instance, there is no vagueness, anxiety, or care. For a flash, life is totally under regeneration and modification. This sensation is the expression of peace that we all crave for in life. Such moments are very few or at least it seems that way.
Joy, Bliss and Pleasure cannot occur without a peaceful state of mind. It is important that a mindset of peace be recognized in our lives. When things are not going according to one’s plan, we should still keep up a positive approach, and yes, no optimism can be shown without adopting peace of mind. It is true what Sir Charles R. Swindoll’s quoted regarding our approach and attitude: I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…..we are in charge of our attitudes”
From the time we have our first day of school, to the time we graduate from the University, we are trained with many basic etiquettes that build our personality and quality. Generosity is one of them. It can make you feel good, satisfied and help in making you a better person. By knowing the effect you are having on life of others, sensation will become good about yourself and you will be satisfied and attain peace of mind. Manage a few hours out of your day’s chores to help someone. Whether that be helping the blind person cross the street, advancing some money to the elderly or to feed the unprivileged children of our society who do not have the basic needs to sustain life. When we give, we get an inner satisfaction of having made someone’s life happier and this will help you attain peace of mind.
Another trait which helps in attaining peace of mind is, Gratitude. Gratitude means appreciation, noticing simple joys and acknowledging everything that you get. Gratitude shifts your thinking from what your life lacks, to the abundance that is already present. This optimistic approach will make you happier, less depressed, less stressed and more satisfied with your lives and social relationships which will eventually help you to attain peace of mind. By discovering and nurturing the above traits one may definitely attain peace of mind. To be happy, to have higher levels of control of your environments, to have personal growth, purpose in life and self-acceptance, ‘Expression of Peace’ is a must. These emotions and personality traits are important for expression of peace and to get inner satisfaction and happiness. It is a saying: “Be attached to nothing. Be grateful for everything”. Following this saying, one may attain peace of mind and can do wonders in each and every field of life viz. professional field, social and personal relationships.
